Wednesday Daily Devotional By Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Diet 28th September 2016) – A Life-Style Of ThanksGiving

Share this story:

“In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you”. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Thanksgiving and maintaining a heart of gratitude towards God is an
attitude a lot of God’s children are yet to inculcate in their walk with
God.

It is normal to find grateful hearts when things are going well but
many don’t find reason to be heartily grateful when things seem rough.
The Amplified rendering puts 1 Thessalonians 5:18 as “Thank (God) in
everything (no matter what the circumstances maybe, be thankful and give
thanks…

There is a big difference between giving thanks and being
thankful. Being thankful is an attitude and giving thanks is the action
produced from the attitude of being thankful. For the God child, being
thankful should gain consistency despite the situations being faced “no
matter the circumstance- in everything”

Develop a thankful
spirit.

Too many can’t find reason to be thankful even in their day to
day activities, they can’t just say ‘thank you’ for the smallest help
rendered, and they never see anything good to be grateful for.

You’ve
got to distance yourself from such people and refuse such attitude in
your life. “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken
spirit drieth the bones
Proverbs 17:22.

Being thankful unlocks and
ushers you into the manifestations of God’s will for your life.

God has
spoken promotion into your life, it might not look as if you are being
promoted presently, don’t despair, pick up the attitude of being
thankful and in due time the manifestations would become evident.

PRAYER
Father I thank you for all you have done and accomplished in my life
including those that I am yet to see. From this day on I develop in me
the attitude of being thankful.

SCRIPTURAL REFERENCE
Ephesians 5:20
