Friday Daily Devotional By Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Diet 4th November 2016) – Beef Up Your Life

Share this story:

“A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 18:20-21

It is sad to know that a lot of Christians do not know that God has given them the privilege to live above mistakes.

The Word of God was given to us to give us direction in life. It tells you where to move and it ensures that you step in the right place.

Psalms 119:105 says, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path”. Your level of
success in life is determined by how much of the Word you have discovered and how much of the Word you have spoken.

It is an error for a child of God not to move forward. In the realms of the spirit, there is no stagnancy: you are either moving forward or backward.

There is a path designed for every Christian to walk through. If you do not walk in the path, you cannot be successful. God expects that irrespective of the circumstances around a man, he should still be in the path of increase.

From our opening text, we see that a man is not yet filled because he has not started talking the right way; that is, saying what God has said about Him. The Word of God is so dynamic and has the ability to cause/effect a change in the life of a man. The Word always causes a change. When you apply a Word from the Spirit of God and nothing changes, it is either you did not apply it rightly or you have not applied (talked) it long enough. Before the doing happens, there must be a saying. The Word you say shapes your life.

Your words give your life a form. In talking the Word, two things are important:

  1. How much of the Word you have said.
  2. How long you have said the Word.

Psalms 45:1-2 says, “My heart is inditing a good matter; I speak of the things which I
have made touching the King: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer. Thou are fairer
than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee
”. Glory!

From this scripture, we see that God has given us the power to re-write our lives. We are not just writers but ready-writers. Grace (strength) has been poured into our lips. Our talking ought not to fail even in the days of adversity.

Psalms 8:2 says, “Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies.” We have been given the strength to talk. So, start talking up your life.

DECLARATION
I speak the right things at all time. My tongue is the pen of a ready writer. My life is
forever on the progressive lane even as I talk the Word at all times.
