Wednesday Daily Devotional By Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Diet, 25th January, 2017) – Pray More In Tongues

“For he that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue speaketh not unto men,
but unto God: for no man understandeth [him]; howbeit in the spirit he
speaketh mysteries.” 1 Corinthians 14:2

 The MSG translation puts our opening text thus, “If you praise him in
the private language of tongues, God understands you but no one
else does, for you are sharing intimacies just between you and him.”

Praying in tongues is one subject that has sprung up a lot of controversies and
divisions in the body of Christ.

Speaking in tongues is inspired by the Holy
Ghost. This means that every Christian that has given his life to Christ and has
in him the Holy Ghost ought to speak in tongues; for it is the language of the
Spirit.

There is a limitation whenever we choose to pray in our natural
language. It is an infirmity.

Romans 8:26 tells us, “Likewise the Spirit also
helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we
ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which
cannot be uttered.”

Whenever you pray in your natural language, you pray in
the spiritual cycle of the Babel (that is, confusion). But whenever, you pray in
tongues, you are exposed to an uncommon knowledge.

You pray the exact will of the Father
whenever you pray in tongues.

Romans 8:27 says,
“And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what
[is] the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh
intercession for the saints according to [the will
of] God.”

God is searching your heart because He
wants to do what is in the mind of the Spirit.

Whenever you pray in tongues, the Holy Ghost
reveals to you the mind of God.

The Spirit of God
begins to drop pieces of information in your Spirit.

For every time you pray in tongues, you get access
to a hidden wisdom of God. Keep yourself
constantly edified. Pray more in tongues.

DECLARATION 
I constantly stir up the Spirit of
God in me. I take up praying in
tongues as a life.
