“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” Romans 6:1-2

I love the way the MSG translation puts our opening text. It says, “So what do we do? Keep on sinning so God can keep on forgiving? I should hope not! If we’ve left the country where sin is sovereign, how can we still live in our old house there?” This scripture explicitly tells us that we are dead to sin.

The problem with a lot of Christians is that they are living below the standard of the God-life. Apostle Paul tells us that we are dead and inactive to sin; therefore, sin has no hold over a God-child.

To be dead to sin means to be free from the entanglements of sin.

When a man is dead, he is no longer in a living state. Therefore, such a man is unable or unwilling to respond, understand and appreciate some things. this is the life of a God-child.

Colossians 2:20 says, “Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances”

The AMP rendering says, “If then you have died with Christ to material ways of looking at things and have escaped from the world’s crude and elemental notions and teachings of externalism, why do you live as if you still belong to the world? [Why do you submit to rules and regulations?…]” The day you gave your life to the Lord, you were born anew.

You ceased to exist to this world. When Christ died, we died with Him. Through that death, we became
completely inactive to the rudiments and elements of this world.

Sin has no say in your life; Christ defeated it on the cross in victory. Live in this consciousness every day.

DECLARATION
I live above sin. I refuse to live below the standards of who I am made to be.
