Saturday Daily Devotional By Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Diet, 13th May 2017) – Discover Purpose
The AMP rendering of our opening text says, “But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.”
No man on earth was born to occupy space. No one was born to be like another person. We are all born to be different.
There is a purpose for which you were created. Your background, status or age does not determine your purpose; in fact, it has nothing to do with your purpose.
You are on earth because there is a purpose tied to you. It is also your sole responsibility to discover that purpose.
There are 3 fundamental foundations to discovering purpose:
The first is your personal pursuit in life.
A human without a personal pursuit is living a meaningless life. You have got to develop a vision. Your personal vision and drive in life are of extreme importance. Your vision is your wealth, your survival, and your life. The first place God will identify you as His own is by your vision. Your life’s fruitfulness is tied to you having a vision. In other words, your productivity and success in life are directly proportional to your vision.
Your vision has got to be heard. Whatever has the loudest voice in your heart creates the greatest passion in your life. Do not let your vision end as visions: you have to empower it and run with it. For this reason, Habakkuk 2:2 says,
“And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”
Your vision has got to eat up the faculties of your mind. Until it does so, you are yet to be on the way to actualizing it. Whenever the vision in your heart is not powered, you become a meaningless entity.
Let your passion in life be directed towards your vision. It is your first step towards discovering purpose.
