Saturday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Diet, 22nd July, 2017) – Refuse compromise

“Like a muddied fountain and a polluted spring is a righteous man who yields, falls down, and compromises his integrity before the wicked.” Proverbs 25:26 (AMP)

Proverbs 25:26 (CEV) describes a compromised righteous man as “dumping garbage in a stream of clear water.”

The Godchild is the most evident person in his ethnos. He is a city set on a hill that cannot be hid. This is why it is always news when a Godchild does something wrong. They always identify them as the Christian, or the Pastor who did something horrible.

Every other identity he might have, takes second place to his identity as a Christian. It does not matter how many times such a crime has been committed, if a child of God is involved, it becomes unimaginable and outrageous that such a crime has been committed.

Whether you acknowledge it or not, the truth of life is that everyone who has been translated from darkness into light is a stream of clear water that can never be oblivious to the world. The Lord set it so.

And when such a Christian is compromised or corrupt, his down fall becomes even more evident.

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego understood this. Even though they were faced with the option of being thrown into a burning fiery furnace – they still stood their ground. They were not careful to answer the King.

They looked at the greatest king of their time and said “it is not necessary for us to answer you on this point” Daniel 3:16(AMP). What boldness!

They stood firm till the end – and what was unlawful became a law for their sakes. This is the height we must attain in our Christian walk. You are a spring and a fountain – a source of relief to the world. You have been placed on earth to quench the thirst of many. No one can drink of a polluted spring.

“The fruit of the [uncompromisingly] righteous is a tree of life…” (Proverbs 11:30, AMP). 

Your compromise when faced with challenges will not only cost you your soul but also that of others. You are seen and read of all men – refuse to yield, fall or compromise.

DECLARATION:
I am a fountain of life. I maintain God’s set standard no matter the cost.
