“Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in
the Kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:4

In the simplest and plainest of words; Humility is your key to greatness. He that will be ranked high (increased/promoted more) is the one that will humble himself.

Of all the attributes of the little child, the one that is expedient in order for you to attain greatness is humility. Two kids from rich and poor backgrounds could interact so well with each other that it would be oblivious to a third party who is from which background.

This differentiation of class is only seen amongst a mentality that is beyond the ‘child’. God lifts up only those who humble themselves before Him (James 4:10).

This brings to mind the story of Jesus which is most exemplary for us. Philippians 2:6 says,
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God.

Jesus would not have been wrong to equal himself with God but still, He chose to be of no reputation, dwelt among the people He created and died in the worst manner of that dispensation.

True humility is not just being low in reputation but in having no reputation at all. It was by reason of this humility that God exalted Him. Jesus got the name that is above every name by simply being humble.

Some persons are proud based on who or where they are, while some are proud of the basis of where they think they ought to be. Jesus didn’t act either one. Humility bestows upon you what hard work won’t give you.

Look at your life today and gauge your level of humility. God sets Himself against the proud and haughty but gives grace [continually] to the lowly (those who are humble enough to receive it)(James 4:6, AMP).

If you want to rank highest (be exalted, promoted and graced) in all you do; get into God’s good books by being humble and maintaining your humility always.

DECLARATION
Father, I ask for the spirit of humility. Make me a servant: humble and meek. Help me to always lift up those who are weak.
