Wednesday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 14th FEB. 2018) – The Way of God

“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death…” Proverbs 14:12

It never ceases to amaze me, the number of God’s children who leave behind their salvation to celebrate this day like the world would. You have to realize, there is a wide gulf between the ways of God and that of man.

Both ways are always in opposite directions to themselves. Isaiah 55:9 explains this further

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

The human mind can’t fathom the ways of God but it is always the best route to take. Proverbs 14:12 tells that there is always a way that seems right to the mere man. To the normal human mind the route/path taken may not be altogether wrong.

In fact it could be the best of ways logically; but the reality is that as long as it is not a way that is proposed by God, then its end point is death. The AMP rendering tells that the way might appear straight to the human eye but the end is the way of death.

This means that the ways of God will not always be a smooth sail. Most times His route might look bumpy and crooked; giving you a reason to want to doubt Him – but you must know that the end point of God’s way is life and abundance.

In this season, as men celebrate Love, remember that Love is God. And that outside Him, there can be no Love celebration. God has set ways and patterns that are specific to you and is sure to bring you the promotion you desire.

The question is: would you be willing to go through that route even though it doesn’t seem logical? Refuse to lean on your human insight and trust God instead. You may not understand His ways but still trust.

Seek to know God’s specific instruction for every facet of life and stick to His plan no matter how absurd. If it’s God’s way then it’s the best way for you to follow. There is a more excellent way for you today! Show everyone the Love of God!

My promotion and increase is certain because I follow God’s pattern. I prosper God’s way as I willingly adhere to the principles of Zion.
