Monday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 26th FEB. 2018) – Refuse fear

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

Fear is one tool that the devil uses to destroy Christians. When a man is dominated by fear, God’s word cannot produce in him. Fear is the opposite of faith.

Fear is an anti-faith response.

Fear cripples, shutdown and clamps the ability of the Word of God. Fear is one way in which the devil gains entrance to the lives of believers. This is why demonic Spirits infests fear as it is their access to the life of a God-child.

The AMP rendering of our opening text says,

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.

You see, fear, is not a character of the Spirit of God resident in you.

Fear is a Spirit. It goes way beyond been afraid. Been afraid is only one of the products of fear. Fear crumbles the mind of a man. God has given you the Spirit of power, love and of a sound mind so that you can counterattack fear.

The devil is only but a roaring lion. He just makes a lot of loud roars in a bid to make those
who are ignorant fear.

Proverbs 3:25-26 says,

Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

You are the product of a King and inside of you lies bold kingly attributes. So never fret; for you have the Spirit of power, love and a sound mind.

DECLARATION
Fear has no place in me. I do not have the Spirit of fear, but of power, love and of a sound mind. The Lord is my confidence.
