Thursday Daily Devotional By Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 10th May 2018) – The Name Of Jesus
Some of God’s children are yet to learn to utilize the name of Jesus to their advantage. This is the reason for the lack, failure and defeat they experience in their lives. When God gave Jesus a name above every name, he automatically vested all authority in that name.
A notice was served in heaven, in the earth and under the earth; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow. This name has been given to us to utilize and enable us to exercise our authority.
If someone comes to you with a request in the name of his boss (a figure of authority you recognize and respect) – you will oblige him, not because of who he is as a messenger, but because of the respect you have for the one who sent him (the one in whose name he came).
Even if you had no regard or likeness for the person through whom the message came: your respect for the authority that backed him up would compel you to grant his request. The name of Jesus works as a seal of authority in the spirit realm. It is like the authentic signature of an important person on a document.
The signature makes you respond favourably to that document. Peter in Acts 3:6-8 understood this. You see that Peter made a demand and not a request.
Knowing the power and authority in that name, he demanded the healing of the cripple.
When you make demands using the name of Jesus, He will ensure that it happens. Stop crying and suffering uselessly: your victory lies in His name. Have faith in that name and utilize it today!
DECLARATION
By the power in the name of Jesus, I disarm the weapons of the enemy in my life and declare that I am living a higher life of glory that has been prepared for me.
