Friday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye, (Ambassadors Word Diet, 14th September, 2018) – Speak right always
And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb. Romans 4:19
The proceeding verse of our opening text says,
He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God
Today, we’ll be having a throwback; taking the Father of faith; Abraham, as a case study.
Abraham was a man that everything was against the Word of God on His life, yet he maintained his confessions. How? God told him, He would bless him with a Son of his wife Sarah. At this point, Sarah was way past the fruitful years of a woman.
God didn’t end there but went further to changing his name from Abram (which is assumed Father), to Abraham (Father of Nations).
The bible records that Abraham went about giving glory to God. Little wonder, Abraham was not just blessed, but was the blessing. He knew how to access the blessings of God by faith. This is why he is called the Father of faith.
Romans 4:16 says,
Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all.
Take a look at the first part of the above scripture. You see, God is trying to say that every promise He has made on your life; that is, every single thing He has said in His Word about you, He means it. But, God is also saying that this promise is going to come of faith, so that it would be by grace.
When a man follows this path, the promise would be revealed to him at the end. Unfortunately, so many Christians do not know the route to accessing the promise of God. Sometimes the realities of the fact would appear before you.
The place of your success would be the force of the Gospel. If the Gospel in you does not have enough empowering force, you would not succeed. Reality would always want to speak wrong of what God has said about you.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you do not give in. You see, God didn’t keep telling Abraham he was the Father of many nations, God told him by the name he gave to him. His continuous confessions propelled him into God’s promise.
Don’t let the world tell you otherwise; keep confessing God’s Word over your life.
DECLARATION:
I always make the right confessions. I speak no wrong; my words are full of life.
