Police Command in Ogun State on Saturday, August 3 says that all the five people of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) abducted by armed men have been rescued.
Note that the only woman in the group Mrs Ibelegbo Chidinma was rescued at the early hours of Saturday.
Police Public Relation Officer Abimbola Oyeyemi in a statement confirmed that the remaining four had equally been rescued unhurt.” The remaining four victims have been rescued unhurt by men of Ogun State Police Command. Details shortly”. Said Oyeyemi.
The remaining four kidnapped people rescued are Chidozie Eluwa, Chiemela Iroha, Okoro Ohowukwe and Ndubuisi Owuabueze.
According to Oyeyemi the five victims were travelling from Abia State to Lagos for a Ministers Conference at the RCCF Camp in Lagos when about ten armed men intercepted the commercial bus marked KW 230 XA they were travelling with which belong to Abia Line Transport Company at J3 area of Ogbere in Ijebu Waterside Local Government Area of the State.
The Inspector-General of Police ordered a massive manhunt on the kidnappers on Friday for the search and rescue of the victims, however, the police are yet to apprehend the kidnappers.
