“ITSI Biosciences was requested to complete testing on behalf of the Lagos State DNA and Forensic Center and the Lagos State Attorney General’s office,” the US-based labs confirmed.

According to NMS Labs, ITSI Biosciences forwarded the samples to them for testing.

The lab stated that they completed testing on the samples of Mohbad provided by the Lagos State forensic center and issued a report in April 2024.

Local media reported that the pathologist said the autopsy did not reveal the cause of Mohbad’s death because the body had decomposed before the autopsy was conducted.

According to Wahab Shittu, the legal representative for the Mohbad family, he further clarified what the pathologist said in court.

“What he said was that they do not know the cause of death and that the body should have been exhumed within 12 hours to prevent decomposition before the autopsy,” the lawyer stated.

The lawyer added that the pathologist referred to a certain drug the late Mohbad used before he died, “but he could not say whether this drug caused the death or not.”

Lawyer Shittu explained that he had not seen the full report of the autopsy results and that the inquiry was still ongoing to question the results presented by the pathologist.
