Wednesday Daily Devotional By Pastor David Okoye ( Ambassadors Diet 7th December 2016) – Get Wisdom

“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” Proverbs 4:7

The Amplified translation of our opening text says, “The beginning of Wisdom is: get Wisdom (skillful and godly Wisdom)! [For skillful and godly Wisdom is the principal thing.] And with all you have gotten, get understanding (discernment, comprehension, and interpretation).” Wisdom is regarded as the principal (that is foremost, primary and most important) thing. Wisdom is a force.

Science has taught us that force causes motion (movement). In the same vein, whenever wisdom gets into a man, it moves that man. When a man lacks wisdom, he lacks a vital force; thereby, causing him not to move. Any man that is successful in life has surely applied wisdom. Many think that education is the foundation for success.

That is thoroughly wrong. Education is not a foundation for success, the real foundation for success is wisdom. Education simply gives wisdom a proper foundation to function on. Education is important so that wisdom gets to function in an exercised mind.

James 1:5 says “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all [men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” When you need wisdom, all you need to do is ask. A particular translation says, “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”

When a man receives the wisdom of God, he becomes a revelation of knowledge. He is always abreast; he knows it all. 1 Corinthians 1:30 says, “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.” Glory!

This means that if a child of God can see Jesus and possess Him, He would have wisdom. But how then does a man possess Jesus? Take a look at John 1:14, it says, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” When a man takes up the Word and gives himself to it, he gets wisdom. For every time you receive the Word of God, you receive wisdom. The more of the Word you receive, the wiser you become. In the light of God’s perception, any man who despises the Word of God is an unwise man. The Word is the embodiment of wisdom. so get the Word and get wisdom.

DECLARATION
The wisdom of God is at work in me. I am the revelation of knowledge. I get wiser and wiser, because I give myself to the Word.
