Today, through the Word of God, we would be dealing particularly with a set of persons; the future of every nation; the youths. It is important to note that youthfulness is not an age factor, but a mental factor.

You may be 50 years and above and still be a youth. Take for example football/soccer players. You could see a 35 years old footballer running round the pitch with so much energy, and scoring goals.

But, a 22 year old ‘regular’ person can’t even run from post to post without collapsing. The reason is because the footballer has given himself to a lot of training (both mentally and physically) that the 22 year old hasn’t. Even when I’m 60, I will still be a youth.

Going back to our opening text; take another look at the underlined part; “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth…” You see, there is a very major tendency for us to forget as youths.

This is why scriptures urge us to remember. You wouldn’t be told to remember a thing if the tendency to forget isn’t present. There is a huge inclination for us to displace the will of God in our lives as youths.

This scripture also shows something of utmost importance. The AMP translation puts the underlined part thus, “Remember God in Your Youth- Remember [thoughtfully] also your creator in the days of your youth [for you are not your own, but His]…”

Being a youth can be trap, and also be a blessing. It all depends on how well you utilize your youthfulness. The Kingdom of light and darkness are at war daily for the youths; they both need the strength and resilience of the youths.

They understand that once they get a hold of the youths, they automatically get a
hold of the future. “Remember God in Your Youth- Remember [thoughtfully] also your creator in the days of your youth [for you are not your own, but His]…”
