Saturday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 24, Nov 2018) – Your Right Standing



Then shall thy light break forth as the morning and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the lord shall be thy reward. Isaiah 58:8

The AMP rendering of the above text reads:

Then shall your light break forth like the morning, and your healing (your restoration and the power of a new life) shall spring forth speedily; your righteousness (your rightness), your justice and your right relationship with God) shall go before you [conducting you to peace and prosperity], and the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.

Our focus here would be “your right relationship with God” When a Christian is in right standing with God, nothing can penetrate him, because his rightness with God conducts him to peace and prosperity.

He is secured on all sides, even when the devil tries to penetrate he would fail because he would discover that, like Job, God has put an edge around you.

Here is the big question. How can a child of God stand right with the Lord when he does not know what God wants? For you to stand right with the Lord you have got to know His Word.

You stand right with God by standing right with His Word and purpose.

Many Christians have taken certain steps in their lives and sincerely did not know those steps were wrong.

They did not discover, not because the information was not made available, but they did not search out the truth.

If your actions and decision isn’t consistent with the Word and will of God, you are sure not standing rightly. You must give yourself to discovering the will and purpose of God through his Word.

It is our responsibility to know heart of your father and take steps in that direction. Jesus said in John 4:34

My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work

Your right standing with God is in your pursuit to finish his work and as such the blessings of Isaiah 58:8 becomes a reality in your life.

Your light is breaking forth as the morning; your health is springing forth speedily and the glory of the Lord is your reward.

DECLARATION
I am standing right with God as I pursue the fulfillment of his will and purpose.
