But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Psalms 1:2

Yesterday, we saw that God seeks for those Christians that find delight and take pleasure in His Word. You see, the Word of God is not just the book, it is a person.

The same way you can love and relate with people in the physical, you can also do the same for the Word. This is because the Word of God is Jesus. The proof of your love for Christ is seen in your love for the Word. When you love something, or someone, you just want to be around that person/thing.

You enjoy and treasure every moment spent together; you can’t wait till you see each other again. This is how God wants you to relate with His Word. Until your relationship with the Word grows to this extent, you would not get to a certain level in life spiritually.

The third verse of our opening text says,

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Isn’t this amazing?

Look at this; God has placed your prosperity in your hands as a product of your relationship with His Word. That is, your prosperity is directly proportional to how well you relate with the Word. As your relationship with the Word increases, your prosperity would do the same.

Little wonder, Joshua 1:8 also says,

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

For you to enjoy this God-kind of prosperity, you must learn to meditate in the Word. There are three stages of meditation; ponder, the mutter, and the roaring stage. When you hear the Word, brood over it; muse on it. You’ll discover so much more than you did when you first received the Word.

Then, you mutter it to yourself; keep speaking the Word to yourself; let it be crested in your Spirit. Lastly, you roar it out loud for the entire world to hear! The meditation process is synonymous to chewing the cud. It gets the sweetness and nutritive virtue of the Word into the heart and life.

DECLARATION
My relationship with the Word grows every day; therefore, my prosperity is limitless. I thrill to the Word, even as I meditate on it.
