Tuesday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 23rd JAN. 2018) – You are what you think (2)

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” Romans 12:2

Yesterday, we saw that the mind of a man is by far his most powerful weapon. Sadly, a lot of individuals are yet to come to the realization of this truth. What you are today is a product of the information you have assimilated into your mind over the years.

In other words, you are the reality of the things you have given your mind to. A man who gives his mind to growth, progress, development, and excellence can never live a wretched life. Your mind moulds your life.

Until you become successful in your mind, you cannot be in the physical.

Take a look at the AMP rendering of our opening text. It says,

Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]. 

You see the process of transforming and conforming all begins in your mental faculty.

To conform to a thing means to be and act in accordance with certain specifications or regulations; it means to follow suit. Whereas the transformation process entails being completely altered or greatly changed.

Every one of your thoughts satisfies one of these two choices. Through your thought pattern, you are either conforming to the worlds’ systems or getting transformed by the Word. God wants your mind to be renewed so that your entire life would also follow suit.

Little wonder Ephesians 4:23-24 says,

And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. 

God wants you to thoroughly, completely, and universally renew every faculty of your mind.

This can only be done through the Word of God (Colossians 3:10). Let the Word of God become your mental framework. Let the Word think for you. Get your mind aligned into the realm that you have been brought into. Your thoughts are who you are.

DECLARATION
Every faculty of my mind is renewed daily; as I take the Word of God, and make it my thinking process. I think good thoughts always!
