And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2
Monday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 22nd JAN. 2018) – You are what you think
The power of the mind is one that cannot be over emphasized. I once came across an article that said that the reason why people feel hungry and thirsty is because they have so thought of it. Little wonder, you hear some people say they were so busy that they forgot they had not had their lunch yet.
After reading it, the Lord made me understand that the mind of a believer is by far his most powerful weapon; if he is skilful in its usage. You cannot and would never be more than what you have thought of yourself.
That is to say, if all you think about is failure and negativity, nothing on earth would ever make you succeed. Your life today is a framework of your mind. Where you are in life, is a product of the things you have thought of over the years.
You see, the principle of the mind is more spiritual than it is physical. God, Himself, knows how important the mind is. That is why, the first place the Word of God would have any effect in your life, is in your mind.
John 5:39 says,
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
You see, God is His Word (John 1:1). That means for every time the Word of God comes to you, it makes you more like God.
As you hear the Word of God, it is God incubating Himself in you. If you can get a hold of His Word, you would be undefeatable; because He is undefeatable. Notice the word ‘think’ in the text above? God wants the scripture to become your thinking process.
That is, He wants all your decisions, and all the actions you take to be dependent on what the scripture says. He wants you to become the Word; to become just like Him. But first, you must think it till you see it. Look at this; if you want to find God, you find Him in His Word.
Taking the story of Moses as a case study in Mount Sinai; scripture accounts that when he returned, the children of Israel could not behold the glory that shone on His face. If you can only expose yourself to the Word; like Moses did, you would have an experience far greater than that of Moses.
For 2 Corinthians 3:3 says,
Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
Let the Word of God become your thinking process. Think it; become it!
DECLARATION
Lord my thought line is aligned with yours. Your word is my thinking process. My life is transformed; because my mind is renewed.
