Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his Lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Matthew 24:45

The MSG rendering of the above text is quite peculiar. It says,

who here qualifies for the job of overseeing the kitchen? A person the Master can depend on to feed the workers on time each day. Someone the Master can drop in unannounced and always find him doing his job. A God-blessed man or woman, I tell you. It won’t be long before the Master will put this person in charge of the whole operation (verses 45-47).

Faithfulness refers to steadfastness in affection or allegiance. It is having or showing constant and true support, loyalty, and adherence to promises or in observance of duty. Look at that!

Loyalty and consistency are not shown by your words but by your actions. Look at the qualities of this servant mentioned above. He does what he should do at the right time every time. You will always find him doing his job.

Many, especially in the house of the Lord, can never be found in their place of service or ever on time. They have their own time for the Lord; everyone has to wait for them. This set of God’s children will hold God random every time their hand is needed.

Faithfulness is the consistent observance of duty. It is being on point at every turn. Realise that we serve an excellent king. And kings don’t wait for anyone, and you can never have enough reason to keep him waiting or fail in your duty.

Sadly, the lack of faithfulness in some of God’s children is even evident at their place of work or business. They always have reasons to be late to work, or, procrastinate until the very deadline to submit that project or assignment.

Your faith is what you believe in the Lord Jesus. And your faithfulness has got to stand on your faith. You cannot claim to have the light and not emit the light. You’ve got to stand for what you believe. Voices will always come to sway your stand. You might be mocked and even despised by your peers for being faithful, it does not matter.

Look at Jesus, condemned by the same Pharisees that claimed to have superior knowledge of the ways of God. Look at David, the man after God’s own heart; he was despised by even his own family.

DECLARATION:
I am faithful every day and every time. I am not weary of well-doing. My master can count on me. Amen
