Monday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 11th SEPT, 2017) – Think like Him

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. John 5:39

A man’s thought determines the direction of his life. Whatever you think of long enough becomes a part of you.

In the same vein, anything that cannot take a hold of your mind cannot be a part of you. Take another look at our opening text; notice the word ‘think’? The first place the Word of God affects isn’t your body or your soul, it is your mind. This is because when something affects your mind, it has gained access to your entire life.

God wants His Word to, first of all, affect your mind, then your life. He wants to transform us mentally because He knows that as much as He has blessed us, we cannot receive until we can properly align our mindset with His. The only tool required to do this is the Word of God.

When a man allows his mind to be aligned to that of God through the Word, there would be a great distinction in the way He operates.

When your mind is aligned with God, your affairs change.

Romans 12:1-2 says,

I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

When a product undergoes a transformation, it does not just get better or move from one level to another; it is totally renewed, repackaged and COMPLETELY CHANGED.

This is what God wants to do to us through His Word. He wants our mind to be so transformed to the point where we begin to think like Him. That is, see things the way He sees and acts the way He would.

When the mind of a man is changed, the man is changed. God knows that if our minds could be transformed (completely changed) through His Word, we will be unstoppable.

DECLARATION:
I think like God. My mind is transformed daily through God’s Word. Amen!
